Used to love it here, but just decent now. Not sure if I'm crazy, or the dandan noodles lost its magic? LIC branch decided to put cumin in their fried chicken wings, so I guess I better return to this branch as long as they keep cumin out of it

This is one of my favorite restaurants in the area. I love that they have a special gluten free menu with so many delicious options. The food is so tasty and they offer unlimited white rice. They also give you free tea at the start of your meal. Anytime I've been they always have ample amount of seating and the service is great. They play good music and the drinks are strong. It is in the dekalb market hall so would say it is more on the casual side.

Writing my first review but definitely not my first time here. This place is a classic and has maintained its standards over 10y atleast (to my knowledge) This dry pot with fish is a favorite Their Dan Dan noodles isn't my personal favorite as it's more on the peanut side but I also understand there are different styles to this dish Their crab Rangoons were pretty great not too synthetic like in a lot of places Finally the cumin dishes (we like the lamb) are also amazing. Very well balanced flavors They have prompt service, decent drink selection and menu, and most likely you'll get a table as it's no frills which is why the social media crazy peeps are elsewhere (TG)!

I came here with a few friends on a Friday night. We made a reservation so we had no problems getting a table. We shared the spicy cucumbers, cumin style beef, and garlic sauce style chicken. Overall, everything was pretty good!

There was a huge group..we came over after a meeting and took over the round table in the corner...it was amazing. We ordered lots of food...I had the dandan noodles and vegetable dumplings and both were amazing. Apparently this is a place my friends frequent often...and I know why...it was amazing! Really enjoyed it and hope I can come back again!

A friend and I were finally getting dinner together after not being able to see each other in person for quite some time and her recommendation for eats was the Han Dynasty Chinese Restaurant on the LES. Having never tried the place I was of course curious and made sure to peruse a little on Yelp to see what others had said about it. It sounded fine to me so we set a reservation for around 6:45PM and headed there together after meeting up. The restaurant is just a five or so minutes walk from Union Square proper and since it was torrentially raining out we were moving a little faster. They have an outdoor dining section which weather made a nope option and once inside we were seated quickly and brought some hot tea. A very nice thing to have on the chilly, rainy night for sure. As I can eat most things, provided there aren't too many onions in them based on my stomach just not liking them anymore, I let my companion guide the decision process. We ended up ordering spicy cucumber cold appetizer and don don noodles and chicken dumplings as the hot appetizers. The main dish would be garlic chicken and we'd be fine with the included white rice. Everything came out rather fast and I don't think it was even ten minutes of a wait which was amazing. We shared all of the dishes until we were full and even had some to take home with us for lunch the next day. All of the dishes were super tasty and a recommendation. The staff were attentive and friendly and while I didn't detect an in-house WiFi my device grabbed the Link NYC feed which was nice to have for the time being. Pricewise the whole shebang ran about $64 with tip which is not bad considering there were three appetizers and a main dish as our order. I say give them a try if you are near the place and hungry for some tasty Chinese food. Order to go if you don't feel like sitting down.

This place is always busy, even on a weekday, and with good reason. I've been coming here for years and still go out of my way to pick up takeout from here after work. My favorite dishes here are the scallion pancakes, the general tso's tofu, and the kung pao tofu. This place is generous with their protein, and also with their vegetables. The food is of pretty good quality, but beware that a lot of it is deep fried. The portion sizes are good, and the food tastes just as delicious the next day. Beware of the dry pot tofu - when they say the spice level is a 10/10, they are NOT kidding! It's really good, but EXTREMELY spicy. I appreciate that there are different foods with different spice levels and different proteins to choose from. The options seem limitless. I particularly appreciate the large selection of vegetarian options. The flavors taste authentic, and the dishes are made well - no matter how busy it got, I have never been disappointed with a meal here. This is a good spot for a casual date - although it's busy, it's got that cool East Village vibe and dim lighting. If you're in a rush, this place is not for you. But if you have the time to wait for some good food, I highly recommend this spot.
